9 Days and Counting! -Katy

Thoughts from Katy.
It's 12am on Wednesday night. I've just finished an evening of marathon online shopping, we'll see what actually makes it here before we leave. We leave one week from Friday. It is hard to believe that our trip is finally here. Starting about a month ago, my life has been all about the lists: packing list, emergency contact list, what to get done before I go list, list of things I forgot to put on my first list...The standard questions that keep coming up are: 'Are you packed yet?' (Answer: NO.), and 'Are you getting excited?' (Answer: I feel like I don't have time to be emotional about any of it.).

I just can't wait til I make it to the airport; by then either a.) everything will be done or b.) too late now. That is always the moment for me when the excitement sets in, truly the start of our grand adventure.

We can't wait to share all of our experiences with you. We will try to keep this updated as much as possible, we'll know more when we get there about how often that will be. We'll also take turns writing on the blog, so that you get to enjoy all of the different perspectives.

Wish us luck! Thanks, Katy

  1. Katy,

Thanks for putting this up. We look forward to following your progress. I ran off your brochure and will bring it along to District Conference tomorrow. Look forward to seeing you and to watch your interaction with the visiting team from Turkey as well as next fall's teaam to Korea!

  2. As you pack, remember the advice that once you're packed, open the suitcase and take out half of it! Always take twice as much money and half as many clothes! Leave room to bring things home and know that your hosts will do laundry for you while there.
