The Evil Eye ("Nazar"), as shown in this decorative plate, is seen all over Turkey. A nazar or evil eye stone (Turkish: nazar boncuğu) is an amulet from ancient mythology that protects against the evil eye. Colourful beads, bracelets, necklaces, anklets, and all manner of decoration may be adorned by this particularly popular symbol, and it is common to see it on almost anything, from babies, horses, doors to cars, cell phones and even airplanes.
I love the pictures and the updates the team wrote. So interesting. Will this next airplane trip be the only one you will have except for coming home? I'm very glad that the host families and all the people that you have met are so friendly. Is there still the language barrier? Keep the messages coming!
